Meet John W Fort
John is the author of over 30 books and video series. All of his works explore the challenges of facing our past, finding resilience through disappointment, and redeeming failure. He often examines a single conflict from different angles through separate fiction and non-fiction books as well as original music. John’s passion for addressing difficult emotions is informed by his own story — a long term transformational journey through tragic challenges in childhood and needed reformation during his young adulthood. John engages readers with the humble aim to redeem painful experiences in service to others and to God. He and his wife, Anna, of 30+ years live in Oregon; they have two adult children. |
Personal Influences
John’s love of speculative fiction began at age 9 with books like A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle and Runaway Robot by Lester del Rey. Books that influenced his writing over the years include The Giver by Lois Lowry, Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis, I Robot by Isaac Asimov, and The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom.

His musical influences are wide and varied, but his original music is primarily inspired by a strange convergence of ELO (Electirc Light Orchestra) and Manheim Steamroller.
